ENVISAGING THE FUTURE: Call for Innovators
Event Focus: The event theme this year is based on "ENERGY FROM WASTE" highlighting the 2018 Techfiesta motto of “Reduce, Recycle, Reuse”. For this event, "WASTE" will be defined as:-
- Industrial Waste excluding harmful ones
- Domestic Waste
- Energy Waste in the form of heat and sound.
- Any sort of hazardous waste will not be allowed.
Day 1
Team Formation: Each team must consist of at least 2 members and maximum 5 members and the event is open to all.
Event Details:
- Participants have to prepare a working model based on their ideas.
- The participating teams will be provided spaces for demonstration on the day of the event.
- The participating teams must bring a brief description about their innovative models which should consist of the basic working principle and the component details.
- At the time of demonstration of their models at least 2 members must be present in front of the jury else the team would be disqualified.
Note: The idea should be unique and in case of plagiarism the participation will be made invalid.
Judgement Grounds: The jury will decide the winner of the contest by auditing the models on basis of following grounds :-
- Innovation in the idea.
- Simplicity of the working principle.
- Reproducibility.
- Efficiency in waste reduction.
- Reusing of waste heat energy.
- Cost overheads.

THE STARTUP: An Invitation for the Building Entrepreneur
Event Focus: If you have an idea that is sustainable,motivational, affordable, responsible and transformational, participate in AOT's biggest hunt for smart startup.
Day 1
Pre-Requisite Round: Submit ideas in a document file in 150 words along with necessary sketch if any with your contact details. (IOT based application which will have a social impact) to niloy.ghosh@aot.edu.in before 10th April 2018 for shortlisting.
Median Round: Selected participants will have to give a powerpoint presentation based on their topics for 30 minutes in front of the judges.
Final Round: Participants(with selected ideas) will be given a real life problem based on their ideas. They will be given one hour to think and 30 minutes to present their ideas.
Example
- Suppose a flame detector, which is a sensor is installed in a house. In case, the house catches fire suddenly. In that case the flame detector will sense the flame and send the information(such as location) to the nearby fire stations. Suppose there are multiple fire outbreaks. But the fire station has only one fire-brigade. So in what order and factors are you going to prioritise the requests.
- The idea should be unique and in case of plagiarism the participation will be made invalid.
- Only Selected Participants will have to pay the event fee.

SOAR WITH DRONES
Event Focus:Showcasing the skills of an engineer in building aerial tech, in forms of quad and at the same time shaping a glimpse of their controllability.
Day 1
Round 1: Reconstructing a drone – all parts of Quadcopter construction must be present with each team(including tools),which need to be assembled on spot in 3 hours.
Round 2: Members have to set a servo with their quads in order to build a release mechanism to drop a weight of 50 gm (will be provided) on a bullseye on ground from a mentioned height.
Day 2
Final Round (LOOPS OF TROUBLE): There will be loops on the arena with thrilling sharp turns, and teams qualifying to the last round are to compete amongst themselves to conquer all the loops of trouble in the minimum time to be the number 1.
